Summary
The Mother Goddess, the Mother of nature and life, has been worshipped since the ancient times. Biddable reliance and deep feeling for the goddess and her children remained a characteristic feature during the period of Baltic history. The goddesses ruled over the heaven, earth, water, fire and atmosphere. Every female deity had its own tasks and mission, which represented and characterised her importance and role in the society. Discussing and analysing all these points is useful for understanding women’s role in the society of our ancestors.
